Rupert Hine

In the wee hours of this morning our dear friend and super talented musician, songwriter, and producer of two Rush albums, Presto and Roll The Bones, sadly passed away. Roop was always such an upbeat, unflappable and all around lovely “chap” to work with and to be around. His influence on our music and on our attitude towards enjoying life was profound and he shall be sorely missed by so many. There are still many of his very “British” expressions that have made their way permanently into our lexicon and we can see his smiling face and the twinkle in his eye whilst saying, “Jolly D!!” RIP  dear “Roop”…We love

Neil Peart

It is with broken hearts and the deepest sadness that we must share the terrible news that on Tuesday our friend, soul brother and band mate of over 45 years, Neil, has lost his incredibly brave three and a half year battle with brain cancer (Glioblastoma). We ask that friends, fans, and media alike understandably respect the family’s need for privacy and peace at this extremely painful and difficult time. Those wishing to express their condolences can choose a cancer research group or charity of their choice and make a donation in Neil Peart’s name. Rest in peace brother.   Neil Peart   September 12, 1952 – January 7, 2020

Flashback to The GG’s

Back on May 5, 2012, Rush became laureates of The Governor General’s Performing Arts Award (affectionately nicknamed The GG’s), Canada’s highest honour in the performing arts. It was a diverse and inspiring group that year, as Rush stood alongside Deepa Mehta, Des McAnuff, Mary Walsh, Paul-Andre Fortier, Denis Marleau, Erlaine Collins & Janina Fialkowska. Longtime pal Matt Stone had made the trip to Ottawa and unsurprisingly, delivered a highly entertaining induction speech for the band. “More than anything, it made me proud of Canada—that an event like that could embrace the country’s artists across such a broad spectrum, from high-falutin’ artsy types to rock bums like us, and represent them
